Interactive Brokers Goes Dark During US Trading Hours

by

Many users of
Interactive Brokers (NASDAQ: IBKR) reported difficulties accessing the broker’s platform today
(Wednesday), with posts on social media indicating login and connectivity
issues During US trading hours.

Finance Magnates independently verified the
reported login issues after being unable to access an Interactive Brokers
account during checks conducted after the reports emerged. The observation suggests the issue may have affected at least
some users, although the extent of the disruption could not be independently
determined.

At the time of
writing, Interactive Brokers’ official system status page continued to show all
systems as operational. The company had not issued a public statement
acknowledging an outage or service disruption.

Posts on X indicated
that some traders were experiencing login failures or were unable to access
their accounts. Several users said they were unable to authenticate or reach
the trading platform . However, there was no indication that the issue was
affecting all users globally.

The discrepancy
between user reports and the broker’s system status page left the scope of the
incident unclear. It was also not immediately known whether the reported
problems were linked to a specific region, internet service provider, or
platform.

Finance Magnates has
contacted Interactive Brokers for comment and will update this article if the
company responds or provides further information.

Separately, reports also emerged today that
several major hedge funds, including Citadel, Point72 and Two Sigma, had been
targeted in a wave of attempted AI-powered voice phishing attacks. There is no
indication the reported cyberattacks were related to the Interactive Brokers
login issues.

during periods of elevated market activity. In each case, the brokers later
