TabTrade Secures Mauritius Investment Dealer License

by

TabTrade has obtained an Investment Dealer license for its Mauritius company four months after launching through an entity in Saint Lucia. The Financial Services Commission of Mauritius granted the approval on July 2, according to its public register.

The broker identified the authorization as license number GB26206419. When FinanceMagnates.com covered TabTrade’s launch in March, founder and CEO Benjamin Boulter said the company was pursuing approval in Mauritius.

Mauritius License Adds Regulated Entity

The FSC register lists TabTrade (Mauritius) Ltd as an Investment Dealer, Full Service Dealer excluding Underwriting, under classification SEC-2.1B.

Under the FSC’s licensing criteria, this class can cover the execution of securities transactions for clients, principal dealing, ancillary investment advice and portfolio management. The license does not permit underwriting.

TabTrade said the regulator also granted the company a Global Business License on July 2. The company stated that its Mauritius authorization requires it to segregate client funds and maintain anti-money laundering and counterterrorist financing controls.

The FSC’s licensing criteria require an applicant to explain its client-fund segregation measures and provide details of its systems for preventing money laundering and terrorist financing. They also set minimum unimpaired capital of MUR 1 million, about $22,000, for the license class.

“Clients should not have to take our word for how their money is held,” Boulter said.

Public Documents Identify Saint Lucia Company

The addition of the Mauritius license does not yet appear in the legal documents publicly linked from TabTrade’s website. The broker says on its legal documents page that the applicable entity depends on a client’s country of residence and that the relevant documents are provided during the application process.

Its publicly available Product Disclosure Statement, dated June 16, identifies TabTrade Ltd in Saint Lucia as the issuer of its margin foreign exchange and CFD products. It says the company is registered and regulated by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Saint Lucia.

The separately published Terms and Conditions also name the Saint Lucia company. The terms state that client money is held under Saint Lucia rules, disputes are governed by Saint Lucia law and unresolved complaints may be referred to the FSRA.

The Saint Lucia regulator has published a different description of its role in the sector. In its 2023/24 annual report, the FSRA said it does not regulate or license forex brokerage, CFD or similar activities in the country.

TabTrade’s website now identifies both companies. It describes TabTrade (Mauritius) Ltd as regulated by the FSC and TabTrade Ltd as incorporated and registered in Saint Lucia. The public client agreements available on the website continue to identify the Saint Lucia company as the contractual counterparty.

Other Brokers Add Mauritius Authorizations

Mauritius has issued the same SEC-2.1B classification to several brokerage groups seeking authorization for cross-border operations.

Axi Markets Mauritius received its dealer license on May 14. The authorization added Mauritius to a group structure that also includes regulated operations in the UK, Dubai and Cyprus.

Edgewater Markets International obtained the same license class on May 27. Its authorization followed the institutional broker’s earlier expansion in Gulf currency trading technology.

TabTrade launched in March 2026 through its Saint Lucia company while its Mauritius application was pending.
