Global multi-asset
trading platform ehamarkets has appointed former England international Michael
Owen as its Global Brand Ambassador as the company expands its marketing around
its technology offering.
The partnership
follows a broader trend among retail trading firms of using high-profile
football figures to reach consumers. In April, CFD broker and prop trading
platform TenTrade
appointed former Portugal international Luis Figo as its global ambassador.
Finance Magnates noted that brokers
and prop firms were increasingly turning to athletes for brand campaigns.
Owen’s Football Career and Trading Ties
Owen won the Ballon
d’Or in 2001 after helping Liverpool win the FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup.
He made 89 appearances for England and scored 40 goals. At club level, he
played for Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United, Manchester United and
Stoke City.
The ehamarkets deal is
not Owen’s first partnership with a trading-related company. In 2024,
cryptocurrency exchange WEEX appointed him as its Global Brand Ambassador as
part of its international expansion strategy.

ehamarkets AI
The partnership coincides with ehamarkets’
development of its technology offering, including ehamarkets AI, an AI trading
assistant launched in July 2026. The company says the tool allows users to
monitor markets, analyse information, receive alerts and carry out
trading-related tasks through natural language commands.
Markus Weber, CEO of
ehamarkets, previously said the product was developed to help traders monitor
markets and process information more efficiently.
“ehamarkets AI was
created to bridge that gap,” Weber said in July, describing it as an
“intelligent trading companion”.
ehamarkets offers
trading across forex, commodities, indices, shares and ETFs.
